Электра предоставляет целый спектр направлений санаторно-курортного лечения в сочетании с широким набором развлекательных мероприятий. Лечебный комплекс размещен в прекрасном сосновом бору на берегу Иркутского водохранилища, в нескольких километрах от озера Байкал и истока реки Ангара. Строительство санатория было предпринято в 1993 году по инициативе энергетического флагмана Иркутской области ОАО "Иркутскэнерго". Уже летом 1995 года Электра приняла своих первых отдыхающих, а вскоре ей был присвоен статус санатория первой категории.
