Климат: морской климат удачно сочетается со степным, он более сухой, чем на ЮБК. Поэтому даже в самые жаркие дни, здесь дышится гораздо легче. Климат Песчаного ученые нередко сравнивают с климатом курортных мест на севере Италии и юге Франции. Мелководный Каламитский залив прогревается быстро и купальный сезон начинается с мая и длится до конца сентября.
