Palm Royale Resort Soma Bay 5*

I have 2 reasons to write my comments in English. First of all – I would like to share this info with Russians who at least can understand English. Also I promised to the Hotel Manager Mr Kannan Subramaniam to send him a link to my comment and I think he will find some info interesting for him as well.

Some usefull info about me: I have some travelling experience (Soma Bay is my mark #67 on the map in the facebook). I’ve stand in hundreds 4-5* hotels around the world. So I can compare.

Sortly: Palm Royale Soma Bay is a strong 4* hotel. I was really surprised to find in Egypt so high level quality (in Europe I’ve visited a lot of 4* hotels much lower quality then Palm Royal) .

03.11-13.11.2012. All incusive.

Exterior of the building: 5;

Interior: 4+

(nice lobby area: atrium, lobby bar with exotic fishes swimming around, live piano music each evening);

Service: 5

(Russian speaking guest help desk, nice service in reception, restaurant and bars);

Room (2 ADL superior room): 4+

nice big room, big bathroom with good sanitary ware equipment). Two big beds (1.5 each). Huge balcony. Perfect view. Nice furniture. Good set of TV channels but no interactive TV hotel system and video on demand. An old minibar. My room was located in the main building, but I saw a room in another building - equal.

Room service: 4-

In general room service is good, but 2 times a minibar was not reloaded and once my ashtray has disappeared after cleaning.

Beach: 4+

1 km beach line. Nice but not perfect sand. Sea entrance is safe for children. Deck-chairs are located with big distance between, so you have a feeling of your own “private” area on the beach. Nice beach bar.

Territory: 5-

Big green area with swimming pool, palms, flowers and grass. Nice centre for kids.

Main restaurant: 4

Food is very good but lack of sea food.

Other restaurants: 4-

Greece, Asian, Italian and Leban restaurants. Nice restaurants. Small choice in a menu for free and almost no sea food.

Health care: 5-

nice fitness centre with gym, sauna and warm pool.

Animation: 5

Not obtrusive, what is very good for me.

Neighborhood: 4

50% Russians, 50% others (UK, Poland, Baltic countries and other). During my stay I met only once “all inclusive” Russian family acting as a savage in a beach bar. In general – very quite and suite (and that is the reason I’m writing in English).

Internet: NO FREE WIFI! What is not in a main stream of modern hospitality business. Hope to find free WIFI next time.

Excursions: On arrival representative of travel company will try to sell you trips. He will say that afterwards you will not have a possibility to buy it from him and that is not safe to buy it somewhere else on the beach. Bullshit.

1. You can buy it anytime from travel agency or in the hotel.

2. You can buy it on the beach. There is a small point were you can buy it and were you can discuss the price! I recommend to speak with Ruslan (see attached foto). He can explain to you everything, show all permit documents, make a short tour around the beach and help you to choose a trip you want. You can discuss discounts with him. Say to him that Vasya from Moscow have recommended to speak with him and he will organize a trip for you as for a friend and will give you an additional discount.

I would recommend this hotel for relaxation, for family rest with kids.

Definitely I will visit Palm Royal the next year.
