We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Grand Oasis Hotel and its staff for yet another most delightful holiday in November, 2024 (Nov. 22 – Dec.01). That was the third time that we stayed at Grand Oasis – for us it has already become a home away from home. As soon as we arrived, we were most pleasantly surprised that our loyalty to Grand Oasis got its reward: we had booked a garden view room, but we got a seaview room instead, a much better one than we were entitled to expect – spacy, looking out on the sea, the loveliest view ever; in a newly repaired block. Needless to say, we were absolutely happy and most grateful. As usual, everything was as it ought to be and even better than that. We appreciated the extensive grounds, pristine clean and full of flowers, the multi-layered beach with enough chaise longues and the large, comfortable, solid sunshades that provide good protection from the sun. The beach is long enough to get far from music if you like the quiet (we do! We usually found a sunshade at the farthest end of the beach and enjoyed peace and quiet, while people who are after music and hoopla, enjoyed themselves close to the pontoon. Everyone gets what he/she wants! The coral reef is fantastic! We swam all day admiring the corals, the fishes, a moray (it seems to live there, in a small cave), a ray, and all sorts of wonders of the undersea world. The food is absolutely great – abundant, and delicious, and diverse; we particularly appreciated grilled prawns, and kofta, and grilled chicken, and turkey. Every day the cuisine is different: Mediterranean, barbecue, Italian, European, sea-food. The staff is so helpful: on the seafood day we came a bit late and there were no more crabs, I just asked whether any more are coming, and the cook brought me some, personally for me. It’s not so much about the crabs, it’s about the attitude – I was so deeply moved! No queueing anywhere – either in the restaurant or at the drink stall on the beach; you just come and get what you want. The staff is helpful, friendly, well-trained and absolutely unobtrusive (unlike in other Egyptian hotels notorious for their familiarity with the customers). There is a free transfer to Soho for an evening promenade and shopping. There is a cart taking people to the beach and back, if one is not inclined to walk in the sun. Thanks a lot – and we hope to be back one day! It was a dream holiday, really, and we are already looking forward to the next one.
