We had bad luck staying at Mirage Beach Hotel from July, 17 to July, 19 of 2023. I would highly NOT recommend this hotel for everyone no matter where you are from and what budget you have: such a horrible hellish place isn’t worth a minute of your life. Maybe 10-15 years ago it was an okay place, but it seems that within these X years the hotel hasn’t been maintained, the rooms are like in a horror film or after bombarding: doors, windows, locks, all the furniture, closets, plumbing are broken, air conditioned doesn’t function properly or at all, the floor, walls, ceiling, sink and toilet are so dirty that it’s scary even to stay nearby. The water in the shower is a thin rusty stream and sometimes even this “water” doesn’t flow. The light 80% of the time just didn’t function and we lightened our room with my cell phone flashlight. There are insects everywhere in the room: huge cockroaches all over the floor, thousands of mosquitos, lizards and small insects (like lice and ants) in beds where we were supposed to sleep. Also the smells are horrible: the rooms smell like shit, mold and swamp. We changed several rooms seeking better conditions (I was with a small child) and all the rooms are the same disaster. The food in the restaurants is disgusting and spoiled - impossible to eat and seemed to be dangerous for health (good that we had smth to eat brought from home). They promote the hotel as being located on the beach, in reality you have to walk about 20-30 minutes from rooms to the restaurant and beach and back, so we walked 15-20k steps per day just to reach room/beach/restaurant: with the heat of +35-40 it was exhausting and not recreational at all. The personnel and managers of the hotel know perfectly well what’s happening there are just don’t pay attention at the tourists’ complaints, but when the complaints become insisting (like mine) they pretend they don’t speak English/Russian and start speak only Egyptian/Arabic (although some hours ago they spoke with you English and/or Russian) - Mohammed (manager at the reception), hello, this part of the story is about you. Moreover some of the hotel managers did not want to speak with me because I am a woman saying “Where is your husband, woman, we will speak only with a human being, not with you” and refused to help. Some of the men among the personnel alluded unambiguously that taking into account that I was there just with a kid without my husband they will rob or rape me. The hotel guide Ahmed tried to cheat us by extorting money and threatening me in messages. The very next day after arrival we started searching for a way to move to another hotel and in 2 days 19/07 we moved to Palm Beach Hotel which was amazing (especially compared to Mirage but without comparison it’s still very good). Mirage Hotel - HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.
