Not so nice
We arrived at the hotel on the evening of January 17, 2019 (stayed until January 28, 2019). We booked 2 rooms for 4 people - one for the parents just next to the children's one. When we arrived, the children were accommodated in another building. While we, the parents, were placed in the room number 8104. There was no TV remote nor hair dryer, iron, ironing board, umbrella nor coffee cups. The balcony did not close, and the room smelled of chemicals so hard that the eyes cried and the floors were not washed.
The reception desk responded to our complaint that we would be relocated the next day. However, we had to wait for three days until the room was changed, every day we went and asked to change the room for the one that is closer to the children’s room. That said, we could have been checked-in at 3 o'clock in the afternoon but they made us wait until 5 pm. I do not advise to book the first floor of the building 8.
The attitude of the staff at the reception desk is very arrogant, especially one girl refused to respond to our requests. As we left the room open for five minutes, someone stole the charging device of my mobile phone and the electronic key of the room, as the workers who were repairing the rooms on the first floor meanwhile were walking along the corridors of the hotel.
Receptionists demanded that we pay 3 USD for the loss of the electronic key, although the service staff assured that the loss was free. In addition, the electricity disappeared 3 times during our stay. The problem about electricity is that when it is off, there is automatically no water and you can't use toilet or shower and the Internet (wi-fi) does not function in the hotel either. In general, the staff is very spoilt, everyone is watching you and waiting for a tip. Room cleaning can be rated for 3 points out of 10 and furthermore the rooms were cleaned at about 7 or 8 o'clock in the evening, just when we came to the room to sleep.
The bartenders on the beach are also a bit boorish. The drinks are not poured into glassware. In a word, everyone wants to get a tip from you, and they don’t even do their best for that.
Dear Management of the hotel! Take the measure of your employees at the reception desk. They spoil the whole impression about your hotel!
Judging by the reviews in the Internet, we had better expectations from the beach animators. They might have tired. They performed aerobics and Latin dance lazily a couple of times.
The only thing that does not let us complain is the food in restaurants. Above all praise.
By the way, there is one review not related to the hotel, but in general to our stay in the Dominican Republic. The sea water is cold in January and you can't really enjoy swimming because it is shallow as well.
