Don't recommend
On 23/08/2018 I had booked Catalonia Gran Via Hotel via booking.com for 7 nights 30/12/2018 – 06/01/2019 (reservation #1705278616).
On 27/12/2018 at 10:33 I was informed by booking.com that my card had expired and was declined and I have 24 hours to update credit card details.
I immediately provided all of the correct new information for appropriate processing and completed the transaction.
The card number remained the same, the validity period of the card was just extended.
On 27/12/2018 at 10:42 I received an email from booking.com with the confirmation that credit card details were successfully updated.
However on 28/12/2018 at 10:17 I was informed by booking.com that Catalonia Gran Via Hotel cancelled my reservation.
I contacted my bank and they confirmed that my card is active and have sufficient funds.
They informed me that the hotel checked the activity of the card as well, but didn’t make a second attempt to withdraw funds.
The dishonest hotel just decided to resell my room at a higher price.
The Catalonia Gran Via Hotel left me without accommodation on New Year's eve and did not respond to my emails.
