Rixos Bab Al Bahr 5*

We had a wonderful stay at Rixos Bab Al Bahr from 11th till 21st of May 2018. Our family is me and my wife, son 7 years old and daughter 8months.

Arrival: The check in was done good and fast. Thanks to Marina Prokopenko that took care of our stay and provided us with upgrade to sea view suit. I have to say that the sea view and direct noise access to the open air dance floor didn’t create any problem even though we had a little daughter. The soundproofing of the walls and windows done very well. There is no disturbing from neighbors and outside. Any requests from our side been well managed and taken care by Marina.

Room: we have stayed at Room 1514. It’s quiet a big room with enough space to our family size. We have asked for additional bed for our son and a bed place for a baby. Even though there was more than enough space to kids to play around. Quality of in room equipment and their working condition is up to the required level. The terrace or the balcony we had is a very big. It’s like additional playing area for kids if the weather wouldn’t be so hot ))) I’m sure the kids would enjoyed it.

Food and Beverage:

Breakfast buffet at the main restaurant: not bad selection of different food items but as for the porridge’s it needs to be checked on the recipe. For our little daughter we could not find any tasty porridge. They were all plain with no taste. But the cottage cheese worked well. I’m not sure what is the reason that bananas were never available at the breakfast buffet only at Toast’n Burger cafe. That is strange because it is one of the most popular fruits and not expensive. It’s a pity to see that in 5 star hotel orange juice on the buffet provided is not freshly squeezed. Fresh juice is on additional cost only.

Lunches we have tried in different places. All fine.

For the dinners we used to go every night to different restaurants with a’la cart service. There are 5 different cousines presented in the evening dinner service beside the main buffet restaurant. Our favorite ones in terms food and service are Meat Point, Italian and Sea food. Unfortunately Turkish restaurant was not really well worked with service. The problem that I can see is the staff that presented there. As I understood there are kirgiz people because they speak Turkish and Russian but I was disappointed of their being not showing a warm hospitality. Meaning no smile at all and not even being interacting in conversation with the guest. We have also been invited by the best Guest Service Team Leader Marina Prokopenko to have breakfast and lunch at Turkish restaurant. We have tried only ones. Didn’t work because of slow service and being not guest oriented. As being with kids it is very important to not to spend long time waiting for food orders and if such offers provided there need to be flexibility. For example we have asked for cottage cheese for little daughter and have been refused by waiter saying that all cheese they have is on the table. At the mean time the cottage cheese is a daily dish presented in the main restaurant for breakfast. My wife had to go there and by the manager there she has been provided with it(food is not allowed to be cared out of the restaurant by guest).

As I said before sometimes going for light lunch at Toast’n burger more than enough and it’s tasty and fresh.

There was also a little food buffet provided by the main pool. We have never tried that but seems it’s very popular among the guest.

Unfortunately the quality and options of different flavor of ice-cream seems to be too poor. If I compare to the Rixos Premium Tekirova it’s a way below. There is also no ice-cream provided at the bars by the beach which makes the resting time complicated.

Entertainment: daily activities for adults are ok but not perfect. Again if I compare to Rixos Tekirova. But playing volleyball everyday was quite enough for me. And I have to say that the guys in charge were professional and well organized. Rixy club my son was so exciting to find the same as he had last year at Rixos Tekirova but from the first time he was disappointed. It’s not as interesting as it was in Turkey. The ladies working there are seems to be very tired of kids or don’t know how to make fun with kids. The only place that my son liked is the Rixy teen where he could spend time on PlayStation games. Evening entertainment at the main stage was not bad. But unfortunately we only had three days of show program and the rest of the days was just life music. I cannot say anything about night club because we couldn’t go there due to little kids.

In general the Rixos Bab Al Bahr was good experience and high service standards presented. I will recommend my friends and will visit this place with my family again in the future.
